A pivot point is a technical analysis calculation or indication that helps identify the market’s general trend across a range of time frames. In short, it is just the average of the high and low prices for the current trading day and the preceding trading day’s closing price. Trading above the pivot point the following day is supposed to represent continued bullish sentiment while trading below the pivot point represents continued bearish sentiment.
